landform
Water continuously and persistently shapes the earth. It washes away soil, sediments and rocks, and creates life along the way. This installation, called Landform, celebrates the everchanging nature of land created by water.
Landform is our proposal for the Shaping Water Competition at the Clerkenwell Design Week in London. Located at the St John's Gate, in Clerkenwell, Landform spans the entire length of the tunnel and consists of repetitious wood supported fabric panels that create a sense of fluidity as one walks through the tunnel. These fabric panels capture the malleable quality of earth. Each panel is a stratified layer of soil and the gradient red, orange, and brown colors mimic the diversity of land, celebrating the beauty of nature.
Water is represented by the visitors passing through the tunnel and their interaction with the fabric panels mimics the impression water makes on land.
